You may not have seen much of VINtwined since the middle of last year - well, that's because I unfortunately had to put plans on hold for a little while, as I returned to the corporate world. However, I'm excited to announce that VINtwined is making a come-back! To celebrate, I have put together a line-up of delightful wines that will take your palate all over the world and the taste spectrum.
This new venture will be a wine tasting with a difference – instead of the usual slurping, spitting and analysing, we will focus on enjoying the wine. My best wine experiences have been around a lively dinner table, with good food and great company – all crucial ingredients to heightening the experience of a wine. I've tasted many 1000s of wines but the ones that truly stick with me are the ones associated with these "real life" experiences, and that's what I want to create for you. So, I will be opening my home for a six-part series on wine sensations where I will team some excellent wines with some delicious nibbles and some even better company (you!).
What to expect from our "Wine sensations series"
When you arrive (minding my bike on the way through!) I'll greet you with a glass of wine and show you to the dining room to meet the other guests as I finish up in the kitchen. You can then help yourself to some food as I top up your glass and tee up the conversation with a little information about the wine. We'll then move through a series of wines that demonstrate various aspects of the “sensation” theme of the evening. I'll be on hand to answer any and all questions you have on the wine but I'm mostly interested in what you think.
The evening will start to wrap up around 10pm but if we are having a blast we can keep going for a little bit longer (don't worry, I won't ask you to help with the washing up).
Sessions are £25 per person or £125 for all 6 sessions. There will be one session a month starting at 7pm on Saturday 24th February. Bookings can be made via firstname.lastname@example.org, by phone 07875560776 or through the Design My Night website.
Session No.1 - Flavour
Whether you like subtle and refined or rich and bold, we’ll find something that you love during this session as we explore variations in flavour intensity and how they are created. We will see how grape varieties, climate, growing practices and winery interventions can concentrate the flavour of our wine. Served alongside some carefully chosen and home prepared nibbles.
